We had so much fun photographing Stephen and Dana and Libby.  They are fun to be around, and Libby is so dang cute!  And I’ll admit it, since they were the last session on Saturday we definitely went a little longer than 20 minutes.  But everyone was just having a good time and the light was so beautiful, why stop?

Yesterday while I was editing their session, Shep was sitting in my lap saying, “Wibby!  Wibby!!!!” over and over again.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dede  and her mother Paula when I photographed baby Gage earlier this year.  It was so fun to get to get to meet Dede’s husband Blaine and get to photograph them as a family!  Gage was such a good subject!  He was smiling and looking at the camera, such a good baby!  Isn’t it nice that I get clients who have wonderful children?  I’m pretty lucky in that regard.

Oh the Hauns.  To know them is to love them.  Cheryl is one of the most loving and unselfish people I know, and there is not a child on earth that doesn’t looooove Casey Haun.  They are so much fun to be around and such a blessing to all of us who are lucky to know them.  I was honored to be at the hospital when they became parents earlier this year.  It was probably the most precious moment I’ve ever been honored to document.  I’m seriously tearing up just thinking about it.  This past Sunday I was honored again to document their family!

How can you not love a family that brings an outfit change to a 20 minute portrait session?

It was fun playing with Mackenzie.  She is about the same age as Shep, but she is definitely all girl!  I was really struck by the differences in the things she wanted to do, play, hold, etc. than what Shep would’ve wanted if he were there. Of course I know that girls and boys are different, but I guess I didn’t realize how different they are at such a young age.  Mackenzie knows so many words and she knows tons of sign language!  She gave me kisses and asked me to sing “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” over and over again.  We had fun.  We’re buds.  I kept reminding her of our buddiness.  Mackenzie’s parents are our good good friends Jon and Jamie.  I got to take some portraits of her back in Semptember which you can see here.  She’s grown!

While I was in Colorado, I had the privilege of meeting and photographing little Sayler.  Sayler looks exactly like what you think he would look like when you see his parents.  You look at his mom and look at his dad and you think of the baby that would come from them and he is exactly it!  Adorable in every way and so squishy and snuggly!!!  Thanks for letting me snuggle you Sayler!  Give your mommy a hug for me!

We took Sayler out to the beautiful green grass, but he wasn’t a fan.  I love his expressions,

I just got back from a fantastic weekend in Colorado!  I stayed at the lovely Westin Westminster, which was an absolutely delightful experience.  Their branding was all about relaxing and unwinding and had very zen and spa-esque touches everywhere!  Balm to a mother’s soul….

I haven’t gone on a trip anywhere all by myself since…..I honestly can’t remember!  It was fun and relaxing not to tote a car seat around (can I get an amen?!) and to be able to do whatever I wanted (another amen!).  On top of that I got to spend time with family and good friends, and photograph a beautiful wedding.  Here are some sneak peeks of what I’ll be sharing with you this week on my blog -

I cannot even tell you how much I am obssessed with baby feet.  I took so many pictures of baby Gage’s feet yesterday at his shoot.  Scrumptious!!  I just loved photographing him, he was so good and so adorable!

I’m so glad that my friends keep having babies!  It’s so nice of them – I get to snuggle them and I get to photograph them!  It’s great =)  Today, Shep and I ventured out to go visit Hannah, Jeremy and their sweet little Ava.  I put the address in my iPhone, and headed out remembering that Hannah had told me that it didn’t take too long.  After a while I’m thinking to myself, “Man, Hannah lied…this is taking forever!”  After about 45 minutes, I end up in Roanoke (they live in Grapevine!) and I knew something had gone wrong…  At first I assumed that it was me.  I mean let’s be honest, would you be shocked to hear that I occasionally zoom by my exit while jamming out to the radio?  No you wouldn’t.   But this time it really wasn’t my fault!  I told Jeremy what my iPhone GPS told me and he said it was wrong!  Score for Beth!

Anyway, we finally made it and had a great time hanging out.  Shep learned that we don’t poke babies on their head.  And he also demonstrated fantastic selflessness by continally trying to give Ava bites of his snacks.  Hannah looked fantastic as usual (do you remember her maternity pictures?).  She was in labor for over 30 hours and delivered Ava at home!!!  Isn’t that amazing?  Anyway, if you have actually read all of this text and not skipped down to see the cute baby, you must really like to read…  So without further ado -

Mmmm!!!!!  I love little babies!!!!!  Congratulations to the Tallos and the Chapmans!

My sweet friends, Casey and Cheryl are going to be amazing parents.  They are so much fun, so laid back, are both such caring people, and Cheryl is probably one of the most amazing and selfless people I know.  That’s a recipe for a great parent if you ask me!  Their road to parenthood has taken a bit longer than they had thought it would, but that day finally came!  Yesterday, they welcomed their first baby into the world.  Jett Remington Haun was delivered via c-section from his birth mother about 12:30pm.  Jett was a highly anticipated baby.  I was there along with a whole truckload of family members in the waiting room, and I had to fight all of Jett’s grandma’s to get my photos in =)  Just kidding, I didn’t have to fight, but it was definitely a paparazzi moment when they wheeled him out so we could see him!  Cheryl got to be in the OR, but Casey was in the waiting room with the rest of the family members.  I was so honored to be there as he got to see his son for the very first time.  What a sweet, sweet moment!

The nurse let Cheryl hold him and pose for their first family photos before she took Jett into the nursery to do all of the tests and observations.  Cheryl got to go in and be with Jett during all the poking and prodding which was wonderful.  We all got to watch through the window while she talked to him and smiled at him, rubbed his sweet little toes with tears streaming down her face.  All babies are much anticipated (believe me I know, I’ve been nine months pregnant), but this was a different kind of anticipation, and I was honored to be there as the hopes and dreams of a family were realized.
