This day has gotten away from me!  I was hoping to get their wedding blogged today but it just isn’t going to happen.  So here’s a little teaser -

Dave and Brecka had beautiful weather for their wedding day!  We had never been there, so when Jake and I showed up to Farmer’s Branch Historical Park, we were so excited at how beautiful everything was.  The park has several buildings including a chapel, a historical home, a gazeebo and an old train car.  Brecka was getting ready in the old house which was so charming!  For those of you who received an email about this blog post, I apologize if you received it several times!  I thought it wasn’t working so I hit send about 16 times…

This reception was so much fun!  When the Eckerts throw a party, you know you’re going to have a good time and you’re going to be dancing – which is exactly what happened.  Here are some detail shots from the reception-

Aaron and Desiree met through a mutual friend.  I was asking him to tell me the story as I took some portraits of him and he said, “I came home one day and there she was with our friend Brandy.”  I was so blessed by their love for each other all weekend.  It was so clear to me that Aaron adores Desiree and that she is so in love with him.  I have known Desiree for several years.  We were in Thailand and Hong Kong together for two months back in the day!  When she called me and said, a) that she was getting married and b) that she wanted me to be her photographer, I was so honored and so excited.  The wedding was lovely and I had so much fun being apart of it.

Married!

Fact: I’m a huge crier, except behind the camera.  I never cry behind the camera, but I definitely teared up during this first dance.

I just got back from a fantastic weekend in Colorado!  I stayed at the lovely Westin Westminster, which was an absolutely delightful experience.  Their branding was all about relaxing and unwinding and had very zen and spa-esque touches everywhere!  Balm to a mother’s soul….

I haven’t gone on a trip anywhere all by myself since…..I honestly can’t remember!  It was fun and relaxing not to tote a car seat around (can I get an amen?!) and to be able to do whatever I wanted (another amen!).  On top of that I got to spend time with family and good friends, and photograph a beautiful wedding.  Here are some sneak peeks of what I’ll be sharing with you this week on my blog -

Chris and Ashley had fantastic weather for their outdoor ceremony.  It was sunny, warm but not too warm and there was celebration and anticipation in the air!  

When I asked her sisters who was going to cry more when Ashley walked down the aisle, one of them shot her arm up in the air and said, “Me!”  and almost started to cry right then.  

I have gotten to capture Ashley and Chris throughout their journey to marriage.  First with their engagement photos, then with Ashley’s bridal portraits and now with their wedding.  Chris and Ashley, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your memories!

These three portraits were taken on a whim in the lobby of the club while Rachel was switching Ashley’s veil for some flowers.  They are my favorite images of the whole day!

Here is a little teaser from Chris and Ashley’s wedding on Saturday.  It was a beautiful day, a beautiful wedding and a beautiful couple!

This past Saturday my two friends got married!  You have seen them before, I did their proposal, engagements, and her bridals!  I was there at the request of Rachel, their wedding planner to snap some pictures for her to use in an upcoming bridal show.

When Candace asked me to do their wedding I was so excited!  How much fun to photograph two people I love getting married, seeing old friends and getting to meet my future daughter-in-law (hehe)!  I was already planning on attending, but now I can write it off =)

Isn’t this ring amazing?  I have never seen anything like it, I think it is gorgeous.

We did most of the formal photos before the wedding, so Candace and Gil had a private moment together in their backyard before we got started.
